2023 Recipients

  • Bara Ibrahim, BS

    He is an undergraduate at NJIT who is currently studying Civil Engineering. He is currently an intern with STV Inc. Mr. Ibrahim is an active member of the NJIT ASCE student chapter and has worked alongside his peers and faculty at NJIT to bridge the gap between the Student Chapter and the young Alumni Group. In between his classes and work schedule, Bara volunteers to help with various Civil Engineering projects at NJIT.

  • George Mettry, MS

    George currently attends NJIT as a graduate student looking to major in Civil Engineering with a structural Engineering focus. To conclude his undergraduate studies, he graduated with a 3.5 GPA. He has excelled in several courses, including surveying structural analysis and soil mechanics. Prior to NJIT, George was an exemplary student at Brooklyn College. George is a skilled graduate Civil Engineering student with strong written and verbal communication.

  • Marie Rose Farrah

    Marie is a graduate student at Cornell University working on her master’s degree in Environmental Engineering. Marie has taken an interest in sustainability and sustainable urban planning to reduce energy consumption. She currently works on waste reduction strategies guiding startups, and securing grant funding for critical projects. She participated in many projects at Cornell that earned her recognition in her field.

  • Mohamed Abdelkader

    Mohamed is a PhD student at Stevens institute of Technology. Since joining Stevens as a Ph.D. student in Fall 2021, Mohamed has become an indispensable member of the Integrated Spatial Modeling and Remote Sensing Technologies (iSMART) Laboratory. In recognition of his stellar potential, Mohamed was bestowed with the fellowship to participate in the NOAA National Water Center’s Summer Institute. His rigorous analytical ability has manifested in the impressive feat of authoring or co-authoring twelve scientific papers. Mohamed has contributed significantly to assessing operational streamflow forecast models.
